Deutsche Bank has appointed Vikram Dewan as Global Transaction Banking (GTB) CIO, responsible for overseeing the department’s ongoing digital transformation, focusing both on legacy infrastructure and innovative new platforms and products.

John Gibbons, Head of GTB, comments, “The face of transaction banking is being transformed by data and technology, and we have added significant talent to our team to make sure we remain at the forefront of this movement. Our objective is clear: to embrace new technology, new partnerships and new business models, and bring the benefits to our customers.”

The appointment comes on the back of the hire of former Tesco Chief Digital Officer, Thomas Nielsen, as Chief Digital Officer for GTB in September 2017.

Vikram joined Deutsche Bank in January 2016, and was previously CIO of Regulatory Technology, responsible for regulatory reporting, control and surveillance platforms for Global Markets – overseeing bank-wide projects addressing emerging regulation such as MIFID II. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Vikram spent 10 years at UBS, where he held various leadership roles in operations IT within the investment bank.

Vikram will report to Linda McLaughlin-Moore, Head of GTB Technology and Operations.
