Liability matching is a maturing concept, with increasing synergy between market participants over the use and interpretation of terminology. The products used in an LDI strategy may often be complex, just as the underlying liabilities are complex. By forming a greater understanding of the liabilities, the most appropriate products to offset the risk of these become clearer.
