Navigating the Complex Relationship of Government and the Federal Customs Service

Conditions for trade with Russia have changed significantly over the last two decades. In this article the author provides an overview of the historical events since 1917 which have shaped the today’s climate, and describes the new attitudes to business displayed by the administration since 2000. In particular, he emphasizes the need for working with the Federal Customs Service and for compliance with the country’s Customs Code, although this is not always easy.
