Shared Service Centres and Opportunities for Outsourcing in the Middle East
by Anand Misra, Regional Head of Sales (Corporate and Institutional Banking), Global Transaction Banking, HSBC Middle East
Categories: Cash Management, Shared Service Centres, Country Focus, Outsourcing
Investing in the Middle East has historically brought opportunities but also some misgivings. In countries with a predominantly hydrocarbon-based economy, for example, the impact of fluctuations in the oil price creates anxiety about sustainable growth. Furthermore, political instability, differences in culture, financial sophistication and business practise has meant that investors have often remained focused on more traditional markets. This is changing rapidly, with a number of the Gulf states now heavily focused on encouraging international investment in both hydrocarbon and diversified industries and developing world class financial infrastructures.
