Enhancing Collections Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction

John Davis, Business Controller, Atlas Copco Compressors Australia

Categories: Cash Management, Cashflow Forecasting, Credit & Collections, Payments, Working Capital Management, Bank Relationships, Receivables

Australian-based company Atlas Copco was experiencing problems with its collections, which involved many manual processes and difficulties in settling disputes. In early 2007 the company decided to implement SunGard’s AvantGard Receivables, which was already in use in its UK business. Many benefits have accrued from the new system, including DSO reduction by up to six days, process standardisation and speedier issue resolution. Future aims include further reduction of DSO and continuing to serve the needs of the business without adding to collections staff.
