London, New York, Singapore – ICAP plc (IAP.L), a leading markets operator and provider of post trade risk mitigation and information services, announces that its 24th annual global Charity Day will be held on Wednesday, 7 December 2016. On this day, 100% of ICAP’s revenues and commissions generated will be donated to more than 200 charities worldwide.

Since Charity Day was launched in December 1993, ICAP has raised nearly £127 million for more than 2,000 charities worldwide. In 2015 alone, £7.5 million was raised by ICAP’s 60 plus offices for over 200 charitable projects. This is equivalent to 3% of ICAP’s full year pre-tax profit for 2015/2016.

This year, Charity Day will be raising funds for another 200 charities, of which 12 are UK charities. On the day, these charities will be joined by their celebrity patrons who will speak directly to ICAP’s customers on the phone to close deals and boost trading volumes in the process. This year, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Harry and The Countess of Wessex will be attending Charity Day in support of Sentebale, of which Prince Harry is a patron, and Shooting Star Chase, of which The Countess is a patron.

The full list of celebrities attending, will be announced on the day.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Jeremy Irons, Carey Mulligan, Drew Barrymore, Chris Hemsworth, Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders and Julie Walters, were just a few of the many distinguished guests to have lent their support to ICAP and its charities in 2015.

Michael Spencer, Group Chief Executive Officer of ICAP, said: “ICAP Charity Day is a huge part of ICAP’s DNA. We founded ICAP 30 years ago and shortly afterwards developed a unique format for charitable giving which has since turned into a truly global fundraising event, replicated by many others in the industry. Now in its 24th year, ICAP Charity Day will support a further 200 extraordinary charities this year, all of whom are in need of funds to develop vital, life-changing projects which will make a difference to thousands of lives. We are dedicated to raising as much as we can for our charities, and are extremely grateful to our employees, customers and suppliers for their ongoing and generous support. Together we will all give 100%.”
