BNP Paribas to enable major European retailers to accept Alipay mobile payments solution

London, Paris – BNP Paribas today announced a new partnership with Alipay, the mobile payment app operated by Ant Financial Services Group, to provide payment support to Alipay app-holders visiting Europe.

In the new partnership, Alipay will work with BNP Paribas, to enable the 16 million Chinese tourists who travel outside Asia every year, to pay for their purchases with their Alipay mobile app at all partnering stores. Alipay provides circa. 450 million active users in China with an entire range of financial services. Initially available in France, this service will be progressively extended to the rest of Europe.

The partnership with Alipay reinforces BNP Paribas’ commitment to delivering market leading innovative cash management solutions to corporate clients and retailers looking to expand their sales.
