An independent provider, whom we hadn’t heard of before, approached us with a new money market fund product. Then AIM Global called and there seemed to be a flood of calls all within the space of about a month (mid-1998). In September ’98 I paid a visit to a recently acquired subsidiary in America. Talking to them, an American company using money market funds on a daily basis, I felt more encouraged. Money market funds in the US and France have been around for many years.
